A house in the cotswolds
Projects where the window colour is in direct contrast to the building itself really show off both sides. The dark granite finish of the Rationel AuraPlus windows stands out perfectly against the white render to create a clean, modern appearance.
The slim and intricate terraced door handles continue the contemporary theme, as well as providing the practical fraction brake option to hold the doors open at any angle.
The flush exterior of the Rationel AuraPlus system suits this project perfectly with clean sightlines and purposeful angles throughout. We took the pictures of this installation in march 2019.
Rationel Windows in Enstone
A stunning update to a beautiful home in the Cotswolds. The Rationel AuraPlus in pebble grey really lifts the property, and the contrasting olive green door was a great choice.
The flush casements help to retain a more traditional timber aesthetic, and the aluminium cladding removes the need to re-paint the timber.
Not only does the style fit in with the area, but the choice to not have any glazing bars means more light entering the home and a much cleaner design.
All windows were provided with friction brakes, to hold the window open at any angle, and our German installation technique will allow the windows to achieve their true potential for many years to come.
New Build Composite Windows in Derby
We are very proud of our manufacturers and how they can work together to create the perfect selection of windows and doors. Through our guidance, this Derbyshire new build combines a timber Lacuna Bifold Door and a number of fixed glazed STM alu-clad timber windows.
A significant amount of planning happened behind the scenes to make sure that units from completely separate factories, made using different materials and different production techniques would come together – aligned properly and installed seamlessly.
All units are graphite grey, and there is a combination of double and triple glazing to give an average Uw value of 1.1.
Replacement Composite Windows in London
For larger windows, the importance of choosing a higher quality product is even more important. With each unit nearly two metres wide, we needed to make sure than the insulation, security and build quality were flawless.
These Scandinavian windows from STM have low E spacer bars for improved thermal performance. The glass is double-laminated with a thickness of 6.38mm on each pane; security espagnolettes are standard and receiver screws are positioned at an angle so that they cannot be cut through – excellent for security.
All units are double glazed with a pure white exterior and a chocolate brown interior.
Traditional Danish Timber Windows in Leighton Buzzard
For this project, we used a window system that isn’t shown on our website. Vrogum of Denmark are specialists in creating bespoke timber windows and doors, and their Rosenholm timer window works perfectly in the large bay window openings at the front of this home.
You may also notice the timber sliding sashes. These are another Vrogum product that were supplied and fitted 8 years ago. We were very impressed by the fact that they look as-good-as-new, despite the customer telling us that they had never been re-painted. Proof that choosing a higher quality product will pay off in the long-run.
One aim of this project was to reduce the number of different window styles being used on the same building. We offered a timber casement window that would replace the aluminium units and match the timber sliding sashes.
All units are double glazed, oyster white inside and out.
Traditional Rationel FormaPlus Windows near Oxford
The Rationel FormaPlus product is designed to suit traditional style buildings. Cotswold country houses and townhouses with a classical style suit this window perfectly. The angled glazing bead and interior timber moulding help to maintain the look of the building.
This project combines side hung windows, with fixed dummy sashes (to ensure symmetry throughout). The terraced french doors shown are outward opening with a thin, minimalist handle and lock combination.
All units are triple glazed, white inside and out.
Traditional German Windows in Canterbury (M Series)
Our M Series German composite windows and doors sit with the C and IN series’ as top end of our product range. In particular, the M series provides a traditional appearance with the highest quality timber, Uw values below 1.0 and a focus on the best possible airtightness.
Although small in quantity, this project demonstrates how easily a tilt and turn product made in Germany can be perfectly integrated in a British home.
All units are triple glazed, white inside and out.
Modern Rationel AuraPlus Windows in Lancashire
If you would prefer your home to have a more modern appearance, the Rationel AuraPlus is a great product to consider. Featuring sharper angles and an overall flush design, this style of window suits modern new builds or renovations that require an upgrade to a more contemporary look.
This particular build shows off various items in the AuraPlus range: from sliders to ultra-thin french doors, full height fixed glazing and regular side hung casements.
The granite textured finish really makes these units stand out from the crowd, and helps the building to achieve that extra unique quality.
Lacuna Bifold Doors and Rationel Windows near Oxford
This new build project is something a little bit different. Six sets of Lacuna bifold doors with Saint Gobain solar glass maximises light, while reducing glare and heat in the summer. The 3-leaf bifold configuration means that you can use the master door for everyday use, and gives you the flexibility of sliding all 3 doors out of the way to free the whole opening.
German Conservation Windows in London
If your home is in a conservation area, it can be awkward to find high performance replacement windows, that are also in-keeping with the regulations.
This is precisely why our German conservation window was created. This timber-only window not only keeps the local council happy, but has class-leading insulation and material quality. The flexibility of a tilt-turn mechanism is an added bonus.
