Arguably, when a project requires the most modern aluminium-clad timber windows, with an architectural handle design and clean design language, the best product to choose is the Rationel AuraPlus.
The flush frame section line-through perfectly, despite some being fixed, some openable and some vertical posts are not fixed to provide fire egress. Using hidden guided hinges has added to this illusion further.
Combining Anthracite Grey and Pure White colours with satin chrome handle consistently throughout has helped to create a very clean and uniform appearance. Nothing looks out-of-place, and both Rationel AuraPlus windows and Sunflex sliding doors look as though they belong together.
Most window handles are designed with many products in mind, and you can sometimes spot the same handle used everywhere from UK-made uPVC to bespoke Scandinavian options. Rationel’s handles are designed and used for their product and their product only. Peace of mind when you know that the part you will interact with the most has such a focused design. The product also comes with a comprehensive 10 year warranty.
The Sunflex SVG30 has the slimmest vertical joins between panels in the Sunflex range (as the name suggests – 30mm thick). And choosing to split the sliding doors into three sections keeps the weight-per-panel low: making it easier to open and close a section in day-to-day use.
Security is something very important to consider. We exclusively use both toughened and laminated glass on all doors, and combine this with product who we know have gone through extensive testing. Both Sunflex and Rationel are approved by Secure By Design – a step above PAS24 and Part Q.
The whole project is installed using Tremco Illbruck’s i3 installation system, which ensures class 4 airtightness of the window and the installation. Enlightened Windows are Rationel Trained Installers and are a FENSA registered company.
