The client behind this project had three goals in mind: to modernise, future-proof and refresh the look of their home. Improvements in airtightness and insulation were critical to this client, as was the quality of the product used and its likely longevity.

In this project, a 70mm depth mahogany window was removed and a 115mm depth composite window was installed. Significant gains in thermal performance were made from the quality and insulation around the installation, with the Tremco Iilbruck i3 system being used to enhance thermal and acoustic performance.

The AuraPlus flush casement was provided as a straight replacement for a traditional softwood window. The external finish was a 30% gloss level Pebble Grey (RAL 7032) along with a contrasting (RAL 6003 Olive Green front door from the same product range). As part of the work, we fabricated and installed colour-coded aluminium cill pressings.

Not only does the style fit in beautifully with the area, but the choice not to have any glazing bars brings more light into the home and creates a much cleaner design.

All windows were provided with friction brakes, to hold the window open at any angle, and our German installation technique will allow the windows to achieve their true potential for many years to come. See more in the gallery below.
